Data Management Software

InfoGrid

Internet graph database. Represents information as nodes and edges, which may carry properties and may be typed. Selection of storage backends including MySQL, Postgresql, native files and NoSQL.

Optional components map URLs directly to objects in the graph database with custom rendering via the Viewlet framework.

Very easy to access external data sources as always-up-to-date object graphs within InfoGrid.

Riak

Riak combines a decentralized key-value store, a flexible map/reduce engine, and a friendly HTTP/JSON query interface to provide a database ideally suited for Web applications.

Redis

Redis is an open source (BSD licensed), in-memory data structure store, used as a database, cache and message broker. It supports data structures such as strings, hashes, lists, sets, sorted sets with range queries, bitmaps, hyperloglogs and geospatial indexes with radius queries. Redis has built-in replication, Lua scripting, LRU eviction, transactions and different levels of on-disk persistence, and provides high availability via Redis Sentinel and automatic partitioning with Redis Cluster.

Hypertable

Hypertable was an open-source software project to implement a database management system inspired by publications on the design of Google's BigTable.
Hypertable runs on top of a distributed file system such as the Apache HDFS, GlusterFS or the CloudStore Kosmos File System (KFS). It is written almost entirely in C++ as the developers believed it had significant performance advantages over Java.

Apache HBase

Apache HBase is an open-source, distributed, versioned, non-relational database.
Features:
Linear and modular scalability.
Strictly consistent reads and writes.
Automatic and configurable sharding of tables
Automatic failover support between RegionServers.
Convenient base classes for backing Hadoop MapReduce jobs with Apache HBase tables.
Easy to use Java API for client access.
Block cache and Bloom Filters for real-time queries.
Query predicate push down via server side Filters

Apache Ambari

The Apache Ambari project is aimed at making Hadoop management simpler by developing software for provisioning, managing, and monitoring Apache Hadoop clusters.

DreamFactory

DreamFactory is an open source REST API platform for mobile enterprise application developers. DreamFactory enables developers to quickly connect any SQL or NoSQL database or File Storage system to any tablet, phone, or other device with a comprehensive palette of RESTful services. Additional capabilities include user management, roles and permissions, record-level access control, server-side scripting, filter string queries, and application hosting.

VoltDB

VoltDB - Fast, scalable, open-source OLTP SQL database with ACID is an alternative to NoSQL key-value stores and database sharding.

MonetDB

MonetDB is a open-source columnar database system for high-performance applications. It comes with a feature rich SQL interface, ready to perform analytical queries on large datasets with an unusual speed.

Apache CouchDB

CouchDb is a distributed document database system with bi-directional replication. It makes it simple to build collaborative applications that can be replicated offline by users, with full interactivity (query, add, update, delete), and later "synced up" with everyone else's changes when back online.
