Solr is highly reliable, scalable and fault tolerant, providing distributed indexing, replication and load-balanced querying, automated failover and recovery, centralized configuration and more. Solr powers the search and navigation features of many of the world's largest internet sites.

Tesseract OCR

Tesseract was originally developed at Hewlett-Packard Laboratories Bristol and at Hewlett-Packard Co, Greeley Colorado between 1985 and 1994, with some more changes made in 1996 to port to Windows, and some C++izing in 1998. In 2005 Tesseract was open sourced by HP. Since 2006 it is developed by Google.

The latest stable version is 3.05.01, released on June 1, 2017. Latest source code for 3.05 is available from 3.05 branch on GitHub.


Flow is a static type checker for JavaScript that we built at Facebook. The overall mission of Flow is to deliver an immersive coding experience for JavaScript developers—a fast edit-refresh cycle—even as the codebase evolves and grows. In engineering terms, we identify two concrete goals that are important to this mission: precision and speed. These goals pervasively drive the design and implementation.

Bluefish is a text editor targeted towards programmers and webdesigners

Bluefish is an open source project, released under the GNU GPL licence. Bluefish development is mostly coordinated on the bluefish-dev mailinglist (see below). On the list, both users, developers and testers can give their opinion on new features, bug fixes and GUI improvements.


Bash is an sh-compatible command language interpreter that executes commands read from the standard input or from a file. Bash also incorporates useful features from the Korn and C shells (ksh and csh).

Bash is ultimately intended to be a conformant implementation of the IEEE POSIX Shell and Tools specification (IEEE Working Group 1003.2).
